Developing speech and language skills, expertise and know-how on international shoots

  • Target audience : film and theatre actors, as well as musicians and dancers performing on film sets. 
  • Teaching language: English
  • Prerequisites: B1+ level in English, first experience of international filming or castings desirable .
  • Objectives: Produce a presentation in English, prepare your demo tape for the English-speaking market. Read a prepared monologue in English. Pass an international casting call, record a self-tape. Find your place on an international film set, understand instructions in English, communicate on set in English with different people. Familiarize yourself with different English accents, practice active listening, use body language. Establish good contacts and succeed in assertive communication on an international film set. Perform in English and (re)discover artistic techniques appreciated by Anglo-Saxons. Be able to improvise in English, gain self-confidence and use improvisation as a means of better assimilation. Be able to deliver a credible production in English.

Hot and prepared monologue

Objectives 

Read a prepared monologue in English (film, theater, advertising).

Day 2

Preparing a casting

Objectives 

Learn how to prepare for an international casting (face-to-face and self-taping).

Casting

Objectives 

International casting.

Record a self-tape.

Day 3

Situate yourself on an international film set, understand instructions in English, communicate on the set in English with different people.

Objectives 

Familiarize yourself with different English accents, practice active listening and use body language.

Day 4

Expanding your network

Objectives 

Establish good contacts and succeed in assertive communication on an international film set. 

Interpreting in English

Objectives 

Perform in English and (re)see the artistic techniques appreciated by Anglo-Saxons.

Day 5

Improvising in English

Objectives 

Be able to improvise in English, gain self-confidence, use improvisation as a means to better assimilate and be able to deliver a credible production in English.
